Grantee Highlight – Lasagna Love: Spreading Kindness One Meal at a Time

When life gets tough, a warm meal can mean more than just nourishment—it can be a reminder that someone cares. That’s the heart behind Lasagna Love, a global nonprofit movement connecting neighbors through homemade meals and acts of kindness with over 800,000 volunteers and 2.6 individuals in need. Lasagna Love’s program focuses on connecting neighbors through homemade meals and compassion. Volunteer chefs are matched with local families facing hard times, ensuring they receive not only a meal but also a message of hope and care.
Thanks to a local grant provided by ACT, Lasagna Love is expanding its reach in Omaha. As Ashley Mudge shared, “The support received from this local grant provided by ACT will directly impact the number of meals Lasagna Love’s volunteer chefs are able to provide in their communities. This grant helps match waiting families who are facing hard times with volunteer chefs—showing each family that they are seen, cared for, and not alone.”
Grant funds will help offset ingredients and supply costs for volunteers, expand community outreach to identify families in need, and strengthen local matching and coordination efforts. Every volunteer personally purchases ingredients, bakes, and delivers their meal—turning compassion into action.
